What a week
You know how usually once spring and summer hit Mother Nature likes to play with us and have the weekdays be gorgeous and the weekends be rainy? Well, the cycle is mixed up here - we've rain during the week with bright, warm, sunny weekends. And that is good.
However, all the rain has left me feeling a bit moldy...
until the other day when I began to feel a bit rusty too.
So did Ellie, now that I think about it.
Even the stripeys were feeling soggy and rusty, dreaming of sunny days to come.
The paper seemed to thrive in our tropical climate and soaked it all up without complaint.
my rusty bag for Sunday's trip to Oz
which left the studio walls empty and waiting for new work.
The proposal for a 2013 solo show at Silvermine Arts Center was completed and delivered.
Ellie and Grace got to see mommy's art hanging somewhere other than in her studio.
The best part was attempting to blow the metal pinwheel gracing Silvermine's entrance into movement.
The wind came to their aid and helped set it to moving.
I decided to pack my green and black tea and rain rusted paper.
They'll ride in suitcase tomorrow
while these bundled beauties get to relax all week.

Rain
Remember the children's poem -
Rain, rain, go away
Come again another day.
That's what I'd love to say today, but my gears are reveling and renewing in the moisture.

Raindrops
Couldn't resist grabbing the camera and snapping a few shots during a lull in the rain this morning.

Rain, rain go away...
As you've already guessed, it's raining here today. It's also just a bit cold with temps in the mid-40's. Not exactly my idea of spring, but Mother Nature has a mind of her own and seems to have decided that this is what is needed today.
While I'd much prefer clear blue skies and warmth, the rain is welcome for it's effect on the cairn.
My neighbors are aware of my artistic bent so, hopefully, none found the sight of me in the rain precariously balancing a golf umbrella in an attempt to keep my digital camera dry long enough to take a few pictures of the cairn too odd. And if they did, well...hopefully they had a good chuckle over it.
This post is from April 2010 and has been reposted as part of The Altered Page's Buried Treasure hunt. It seemed appropriate today since the weather is much the same. The cairn has been dismantled though. If interested, just search on "cairn" for more posts re: the outcome.

May showers
April showers bring May flowers, right? So what do May showers bring? At my house, they bring rust.
Saturday morning I fly to Kansas to visit my friend Pam for the 2nd Annual Artist Retreat. I'm wondering...does this one get packed and fly out with me? To pack or not to pack. That is the question. What do you think?

Patterns in the rain
We had a few thunderstorms at the beach today and I took advantage of one to take photos of the patterns made by the rain drops.
