October 4-7, 2017
I am pleased to announce that I will be teaching a mark making workshop, entitled Permission to Play, at Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch's OPENstudio in Lexington, Kentucky October 4-7, 2017.
Play and experimentation are
vital ingredients in a successful studio practice. So is asking and answering
the question, “What if….?”
In Permission to Play, we will engage in focused, thoughtful play and
experimentation with a variety of mark making techniques that will aide each
student in discovering their own unique mark. We will participate in mark
making exercises on paper and cloth designed to allow and encourage students to
recognize and intuitively follow inspiration as it occurs. It will be a time to
try new techniques and materials, get messy, make mistakes, repeat or move on
without fear.
Bring your sense of adventure and
those materials and/or techniques that you’ve been yearning to try. The sole
rule of the class is that if you even think what
if…?, you must follow through and find the answer.
Hello Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI am from a very small community in Queensland Australia and admire your work which keeps popping up on my Pintrest board. I am especially intrigued by your tea bag art. I have just ordered Alice Fox's book which should arrive in about a week. I have been experimenting for some time with tea bags and am extending beyond painting on single bags to making installations, however I am struggling to find somewhere to purchase bulk rolls or packs of unfilled bags. Do you use unfilled bags? Do you have a preference in weight and shape? Would you recommend a supplier of bulk empty bags?
Looking forward to your reply......Karen
