The Red Boat Series

The Red Boat series makes physical my memories of standing by the River Tay in Newburgh, Scotland in 2013 where I'd gone to take Sandra Brownlee's Tactile Notebooks and the Written Word workshop. It quickly became my habit to stroll along the banks of the River Tay each morning on the way to class. A single red row boat was anchored in the river, always present, only rising and falling in the water as the tide ebbed and flowed. It fascinated me and came to represent the experience of venturing to Scotland and the connections made there.
