Before the little urchins caught the bus this morning, they pulled a sled in from the yard that had been out during the weekend's rain. The night's cold had turned the rain to ice in the most magnificent way.
Needless to say, I couldn't resist getting a few shots.
After school, Ellie thought it would be fun
to play with the ice
and make a mosaic of sorts. Ice flower, anyone?
I am in awe of nature...and of how you managed to capture it in these photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Seth, but really, the credit goes to Mother Nature. This ice was so clear it looked like glass with streams and bubbles of air (I think?) captured inside. Just couldn't resist photographing them.
DeleteWonderful pics - and those little urchins are pretty wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie! The little urchins are pretty good little urchins. It was fun to watch Ellie playing with the ice. Enjoy!
Deletebeautiful, like pins
ReplyDeleteIt is like pins, isn't it? I'd seen areas that were stitches. The pin areas reminded me of seedlings trying to burst out of the ground. Wonder what others see?
DeleteNice post!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet ( :
Thank you Sue!
DeleteLOVE the ice shots. They make such beautiful images - good for drawings and etchings. I can't imagine the wonderland it must be to walk out your door and have ice or snow ….. so far removed from what nature deals us here. Of course, I would only like to visit such cold - not live in it! The urchins seem to be growing up on your blog - beautifully! Please tell Ellie I thought her ice flower was beautiful. Maybe you have a Goldsworthy in the family. Move over Andy, here comes Ellie. x
ReplyDeleteoh what beautiful little stripes and bubbles. Natures offer of beauty is always amazing! And Ellie's ice flower is delightful (as is her expression) : )
