Happy 2013

Robyn of Art Propelled posted a Neil Gaiman quote that I just can't resist sharing as well.

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
Neil Gaiman

Wishing you a year of taking chances and making mistakes!

  2. Something so freeing about those words isn't there? They encourage mistakes, honour mistakes and generally say that mistakes are good - you grow and learn and discover from them. Here's to mistake-making in 2013!

  7. HI J - thanks for the 2013 wishes. I think that quite a bit of art is re-defined mistakes - so I agree let us make mistakes and rename them. Go well. B

    1. Your "re-defined mistakes" got my mind to going.

Re-purposed mistakes and re-fined mistakes immediately came to mind. Here's to lots of both in 2013!
