Facelift

No. No facelift for me. This one was for the studio - or rather, one of the display boards.

I'd been bemoaning the fact that it was next to impossible to display my large pieces - 60" x 72" or more. Kept tossing several options around and on Friday went to Home Depot for 4' x 8' pieces of insulation with a stop by Joann Fabrics for white felt. Et viola!

This is the board to the left of my desk and conveniently in front of the studio door. Now it's possible to hang all those big pieces and see what they really look like. What do you think?

  1. Fabulous! Great outcome and you will just love having that big drop to hang the large pieces in and leave them there, step back, take a look, peep up, see what grabs your eye...every studio should have one!

    1. Thanks Fiona! Even as I was hanging the boards, I kept wondering why I hadn't done this sooner...except that my previous work wasn't LARGE. Could fit a couple more boards in actually. Maybe later.

    1. A gypsy tent room...
      yes, of a sort.
      Not as nice as your
      gypsy tents, but comfortable
      none the less.

  3. This is a great start...but

I think that you have to move those little book cases/ shelves away so that you have a clear view with no distractions and that you can work even larger with no impediments.

Can you put those supplies stacked up somewhere on another 'suppply wall?'

    That's what I think.
I know you are meant to work large. xx

    1. You're absolutely right Judy. Problem is that I haven't figured out where to put those bins. The only other free floor space is even less convenient...under the drying board, in fact. The closet is where it all should go, but that's full to brimming with supplies too.

Actually, part of it could/should be passed along or just pitched. Three of the bins have old copies of American Craft, Surface Design and Fiber Arts magazines. Keep thinking I'll look at them again, but rarely do. Hmmm...not yet, but soon.

    2. Forgot to say that I think you are meant to work large too. I'm totally enamored with your very large, elegant pieces.
