In the studio this week

Urchins in summer camp = studio time!

 This little page

spurred a lot more of this,

which resulted in all those holes.

And that just begged for its own bit of red.

What did you do this week?

  1. Funny you should ask ... I've been writing on cloth, inspired by Fiona Dempster's awesome "Too many deaths, too many poppies" http://paperponderings.blogspot.com/2015/04/thursday-thoughts_30.html and Dee Mallon's Hearts for Charleston https://deemallon.wordpress.com/category/hearts-for-charleston-quilt/

I do love the marriages of stitch and text, paper and thread, asemic and legible that you have presented here.

    Encore!!!

    1. Just took a look at the cloth you've been working on and was truly moved to tears. Your thoughtfulness, understanding, creativity and artistry have merged into a very emotional and intelligent piece.

Thanks as well for your kind words on my week's work. It's been a fun exercise to see what would happen if book pages were gesso-ed and stitched over. It's a bit addicting, actually. Need more to take with me on a trip this week.

      Enjoy!

  2. Liking these marks and the red thread. I started eco printing on paper today. And I planned a trip to see my dear sisters in stitch this October. hmmm.

    1. Sounds like a busy week. I love your eco prints and am wondering if you'll be stitching or mono printing on them? As for October...is it here yet? Can't wait for the next gathering!

  3. I love the text hidden beneath gesso (thanks for the tip) - and the lovely holes and stitching. Looking good, going places! I sadly have done nothing this week. Soon, soon I hope. Continue to enjoy and explore.
