These images captured the look and feel of our class, but you 'had' to be there, and we were! Such a good time being with you, Lotta, Velma, Aimee and the rest of the class.
ReplyDeleteThank you my dear! You're right - one did have to be there...and we were! (written to sounds of lite giggling because...well...we were there and it was great) Miss you!
DeleteLooks like marvelous fun, Jennifer. It will be interesting to see what develops as a result. -sus
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed marvelous fun Susan. I've wanted to take a paper making class and a book binding class for a long time. Velma and Aimee combined these techniques beautifully. We came away with a sample book of papers we'd pulled in a book we'd made. It was awesome!
Deletehi jennifer, that was a surprise to open this post and find velma's little book looking back at me! thank you ! looks like fun times were had all round ..so much to take in including new ways of using your fingers.... such special shared times.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome Roz! I spied the pendant laying on fabric at Velma's spot first thing Sunday morning and yearned to try it on...opted to pick it up to inspect and then photograph instead. It is heavenly. It's one thing to see photos of your metal work online and think they are great, but to see it in person just lets one see how exquisite the work is. Now...when will you be making more? Enjoy!
DeleteEven from an outsider looking in - you can see that this was a creative buzz - wow - so much class!! Great work!!
ReplyDeleteVelma and Aimee taught so much and all in only 4 days. No doubt it will take a while to process, but there are a few book binding techniques that will go into practice as soon as possible. Enjoy!
DeleteWow - you so obviously had such a great creative time...
ReplyDeleteYes. It was great to finally meet Velma as I've been following her blog for a bit now. Wonderful as well to have time with Christine and Lotta again. I'd still like time to explore Cleveland properly and take in all the art that graces the town. Statues and outdoor installations are everywhere! Enjoy!
Deletewow. i am speechless. did we really accomplish all that? and jennifer, next time you may try on AND wear roz's neckbook. for a while, anyway! i miss our class energy!
ReplyDeleteFunny Velma. Yes, we really did accomplish all that...and in just 4 days. Imagine what we could do in a 5 day class....
DeleteWhat a wow of a week that was ! I love your blizzard book with the samples of the paper - just perfect! Have fun exploring what you can make become yours...looking forward to seeing where you head!
ReplyDeleteThe blizzard book was fun to make and seemed perfect to hold the samples of my hand-made paper. Need to make more paper... It can be quite addictive, can't it?
DeleteAmazing. I cannot even imagine how inspiring the week must have been!
ReplyDeleteIt was a magnificent week Seth and I'd love to have been able to extend. Definitely want to take another book binding/paper making class. Safe travels to Australia! Can't wait to hear about your journey. Enjoy!
DeleteJennifer, thank you so much for sharing your week with us! Truly looked like a most wonderful time! How inspiring everything is and your photos have been a real treat too!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome JackieP! It was a wonderful week and if paper making or book making is of interest, I highly recommend learning from Velma and Aimee. Enjoy!
