We've rented a house full of character, color, texture, antiques, charm galore inside and out. And rusty bits. Can't forget the rusty bits.
We brought thread, fabric, indigo, dye stuff and pots and paper as well as ideas of all sorts, shapes and sizes. Enjoy the photos. It's stitching time!
oh how fabulous ! ... great company, great inspiration, great surroundings .... i am so jealous !!! Do have fun and i look forward to seeing what emerges. >>> Gina
ReplyDeleteGina, it was an amazing time. I highly recommend gathering a group of friends/artists, finding a spot that will house you all and spending a weekend together creating, chatting and sharing ideas. Enjjoy!
DeleteOooooh how lovely it all looks! A dream, indeed to spend time with other women artists who are kindred spirits! Someday....
ReplyDeleteIt was a dream come true Karen. I am honored to have been invited to join the group this time around. Enjoy!
DeleteA gorgeous photo essay! I'm am coveting those threads! Where are they from?
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when Christine brought out the threads. I'll post a link soon.
DeleteLooks like fun! I'm wishing a group of like-minded artists lived close-by so we could take off for an art weekend too. Love your header!
ReplyDeleteGot a chuckle from your comment - especially concerning the "living close-by" part. The 5 of us live in Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, New Jersey and Connecticut. 3 drove, 2 flew. We tried to find a spot that was somewhat central to all. Perhaps that could work for you?
DeleteGlad you like the header! I do too. Enjoy!
o my…bliss! I hope you guys are having the best of times. And wondering of course if the house would be available to book if Susan and I ever made it over your way?!?! A gal can dream I guess…Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I'm sure we could find a week...or two when the house is available if you and Susan care to wander over this way. Or perhaps another house. Of course, we'll need to add Pam to the mix. Dreaming with you. Enjoy!
Deletewhat a great way to spend your days. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt was delightful Jill. I knew Christine and Kelly, but had yet to meet Lotta and Erin - although I'm a fan of their art. It was amazing how comfortable we all were together. Like old friends meeting again after a time apart. Just wonderful. Enjoy!
DeleteHow lucky is that ... friends and a cottage and time to make art! How I wish I could muster a group and an opportunity like that ...
ReplyDeleteOh and do tell me the full name of that enticing book on Making Art that I see peeking out from several of the photos ...
It was a dream weekend Charlton. Stay tuned for a follow up post. I'll share the name and link to the book. Enjoy!
