    1. Thank you for joining in the search for Roy. I love your photos - especially the lanterns (not quite sure what to call them...) outside of Kyoto. Makes me yearn to visit. Enjoy!

    1. There's something about a grid of 9 that is so appealing...and to have it be in red is like the icing on the cake for me. Looking forward to seeing your orange next month. Enjoy!

  6. A dazzling array of red! I think I love the snails most - we saw some just like them at Columbus Circle in NYC I think?

    1. Aren't the snails great? This is a garden shop that has the most interesting bits - especially of the rusty kind. The snails are out front near the road when open and are quite a presence. Keep hoping to get a photo of them in snow - all that red against white is gorgeous.

Snails at Columbus Circle, huh? May just have to venture that way tomorrow. I'm going to visit the Serra sculptures tomorrow...

    2. These are wonderful, but dangerous too! You reminded me of another red that I just have to add to my post. So many inspirations!!

  7. Those snails are indeed fantastic - not seen playground equipment like these over here - but I guess they may be lurking somewhere.

    1. Can't you just picture those snails with kids hanging off them? Funny. These are actually at a local garden shop. I have no idea where she got them or what they're really for, but seeing them brings a smile each time I drive by.

    1. Aren't the snail great? They were such a surprise to see the first time - 5 of them, in varying spots around the garden center parking lot, white snow as their base.... It was magical. Keep waiting for more snow so I can get the shot. Enjoy!

  10. Love your red finger and those red snails ..... red seems like such a good colour to be focussing on when all over there seems to be white and icy! Reminds me of the joy of seeing a robin's red breast against the bleak of winter. Used to see those when I lived down south - certainly not up here in Queensland!

    1. It's funny how one grows accustomed to seeing certain wildlife in their own area and never think about it living somewhere else. I had to stop for a second to re-read your comment about the red of a robin's breast against the bleak of winter. Never occurred to me that robins live elsewhere as they are native birds here as well. Just shows how little I know about birds and their geography, huh?

The red of my finger was a total accident and great surprise. Couldn't resist including it. The snails are priceless. If John would let me, I'd be tempted to bring one home with me and plop it in the front yard. Wonder if it would ward off much smaller snails or act as magnet for them?

    1. Thank you Lisa! I'm so glad you joined us again. Your posts are always so well thought out and the photos...well...they're just exquisite. The bicycle installations are such fun. I can't imagine walking down the street to find those!

So...are you thinking of orange yet?

  12. J - when I saw the snails I smiled; and as F indicated those snails must travel fairly fast given we saw them scooting around the roundabout in NY. Go well. Hope you got to check the snails out in NYC. B

    1. Hi Barry. The snails are fun and were such an unexpected sight at the local garden shop. I'm still hoping to get a shot of them in snow...sliding their way across the lot...or around Columbus Circle. Enjoy!
