I've fallen in love with frost.
Once again, my parents' back deck
was a sparkly playground
for me
and my camera.
The frost on our back deck in Connecticut
never looks like this.
Or is it just that I never noticed?
I'll definitely look closer once I return home.
Until then, let me know if you tire of frost.
Sooooo beautiful! We are in sunny Phoenix still, snow and frost await us!
ReplyDeletePhoenix! Vacationed there for a week ages ago and have always wanted to go back. To Sedona as well. Enjoy!
Deleteno wonder you are in love with frost! our sams creek frosts don't look anything like these glorious jewels (but I must say - I stayed over in the southern highland once in winter and woke up to find the most marvelous frost crystals eveywhere..... I wouldn't mind the cold if it always delivered such gems!)
ReplyDeleteOur Connecticut frost doesn't look like this either. Every now and then, the windshield of my van sports individual frost/snow crystals, but nothing like this. Sadly, it's warmer this morning so no frost.
Deletedelightful...we've had some nice frosts here in Portland but nothing like yours
ReplyDeleteThanks India! Have you had snow out there yet? Never been to Portland (Oregon nor Maine), but always pictured it with lots of snow in the winter.
DeleteBeautiful captures, and no - I am not tired of your frost.
ReplyDelete-sus
Thank you Susan! Sadly, it's a frost-less morning. Maybe tomorrow. Enjoy!
DeleteYet more extraordinary crystals! These are just so beautiful. Think how they'd stitch or work with beads ... or both together, white on white ...
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely a series in these photos as well as the snow shots from a couple posts ago. Now...to find the time....
DeleteBeautiful but brrrrrr
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrrrr indeed. Temps in the low 20's in the morning, but warming to 50 during the day. Not too bad.
DeleteThese are just incredible I have never seen anything like, except in your previous post, I suspect it never gets cold enough here. We used to get fern patterns on the windows when I was a child with no central heating.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I think it's the combination of below freezing morning temps followed by mid-50's F in the afternoon coupled with no wind to dry the dew off the wood once the temps lower again. It stayed above freezing last night so no frost today. Must admit I was bit bummed.
DeleteFern patterns on windows? That must have been gorgeous!
They were, don't know why they came out in fern patterns, I guess it was the way the cold water vapour crept upwards?
DeleteThese shots are so beautiful Jennifer. As I have often said, nobody creates quite like nature!
ReplyDeleteThanks Seth! I'll definitely be checking out the frost in CT more closely from now on. How's the frost in NYC?
DeleteNice to see such lovely frost ... we have waves and sand but no pretty frost. Your photos truly capture this crystal like beauty!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Waves and sand....ahhhh....that sounds heavenly right now.
DeleteI am often spellbound by patterns found in nature. These images are spectacular!
ReplyDeleteYou just can't beat Mother Nature. I lucked out with these photos and my little "point and shoot" Canon G11. No frost since - it's been too warm. Enjoy!
