A new Christmas tradition

Belated Christmas greetings from Cancun! I hope everyone had a delightful day, filled with peace, joy, laughter, good food and good friends and family. Or peace and quiet...whatever you desired.

We decided to do something different this year and came to the beach. So odd on one hand to spend Christmas day among palm trees, lazying by the pool and enjoying umbrella drinks (the girls love virgin pina coladas). I'm really thinking that this should become a new Christmas tradition. There are enough hotels here to allow staying at a different one each year for quite a while.

Enjoy the photos!

    1. It is beautiful here and crowded without being overly so. Plenty to do for everyone both inside and out. Surf has been rough so the pool has been our spot. Happy holidays to you and George!

    1. Peggy, I could sit by the pool all day and do nothing but photograph the reflections on the water. My little urchins wouldn't be too happy, but I would. There were actually 2 gingerbread houses that were surrounded by dishes of candy which (I think) was supposed to have been used to further decorate the houses. It got eaten instead. Happy holidays to you and your family!

    3. If I coud figure out a way to send a box of snow your way, I'd...and the girls would help...be happy to. Hmmm...there's a nice little thing to ponder while the snow falls. We've 6" so far.

  5. J - getting away from it all and to warmth could be a good tradition indeed. Looks like it was a relaxing time. Go well. B

    1. It's been very relaxed and relaxing here Barry. Part of me is ready to stay for a few more months and part is ready to return home...the studio calls. Been away from the studio for...let's see...well over a month now and withdrawal is setting in.

I hope you and Fiona enjoyed a magical NYC Christmas. Did you have fresh snow? Happy holidays!!!

    1. Robyn, this is our first Christmas away from family. Our tradition is to spend Christmas with my husband's family one year and with mine the next. This year...well...here we are. I'm wondering, what is Christmas like in your part of the world? Happy holidays to you and your family!

  7. Not a bad tradition! Are you still there or are you braving the stormy (Herculean) weather? We have a few inches...which means DC will be at a standstill! Happy New Year! Left a message for you on fb about Roy.Tell me what you think. Off to Savannah on Sat. (wish I could say things were going well down there...unfortunately not)

    1. Oh! It was loads of fun Julie. We returned to CT Monday in time for New Year's and the snow. School was cancelled in anticipation. At 5 am, the back deck had 6" and it's still snowing these miniscule flakes...hordes of them though. Been considering Roy G Biv. What do you think of a post announcing his revival and inquiring which other colors those participating would like to photograph? Personally, I'd like to see pink, white, black and brown in separate months which would leave us with 1 not covered. Maybe it could be a "blogger's choice" month? Just throwing out ideas.

So sorry to hear that all is not well in Savannah. Thought of you and Pam a lot while I was in TN with my parents. Think Pam mentioned that she brought you up to date on the happenings there... Have a safe trip and let me know if there's anything I can do.
