Grab a cup or glass of your favorite beverage. Sit back. Relax. And be transported to Newburgh, Scotland and the whirled that is India Flint.
Being (t)here
from Tracey McConnell-Wood on Vimeo.
Christine and I had the pleasure of being at the river, happily mud painting in our notebooks when India and Tracey arrived to re-record water playing on the drum for the video. India was kind enough to grant me permission to photograph her and I shared a few of those photos here.
As India's video shows, Newburgh is truly a magical place. And India...well, she is magic personified.
Truly magical... Visual and auditory poetry...India has such a soothing voice and the words she speaks... (I have no words!)
ReplyDeleteYes. And that, my dear, is India Flint.
DeleteIndia posted from Newburgh before the workshop that I attended began. One of her photos spoke to me - a single red boat afloat on the River Tay. Soon after, I found myself standing on the bank, looking at that very same red boat. It was...it was. I haven't the words to accurately describe all that that week in Newburgh was - all that the "workshop" with Sandra was.
The whole experience was so surreal, yet so very, very real. I can only hope that each of us has such an experience at some point in our lives.
I really enjoyed this video and it was great to hear India's voice too.
ReplyDeleteIndia has the kind of voice that can make anything sound lyrical...phone book, ingredients on a box of cereal, you name it...
Deletethese times are so perfect, seminal. i loved seeing this video.
ReplyDeleteYes.

DeleteJ- F shared this video with me - what an amazing experience and talent; and I loved the gong as well - wonder if I can make them? Go well. B
ReplyDeleteBarry, India truly is an amazing person and this video shows that so well. As for the gong...are drums called gongs in Australia?
DeleteMagical - thank you so much for sharing it
