Boston definitely has green.
That's where we've been for the past few days. Exploring Boston, feeding the ducks, riding in the swan boats, going to the aquarium and the most magnificent children's museum I've ever seen. Oh! To be 5 again and be able to play in that place.
Do you know who else has green? Julie has Maine greens. Fiona favored us with a bit of green to ponder. Lisa posted the most wondrous greens...my favorites are the patinas. But it was Ersi who stole the show!
September's search for Roy will have us all in a blue mood...or in the mood for the blues...or the Moody Blues...or...
What sort of blues will you have, I wonder?
Oh my, Jennifer! Thanks for mentioning my 'green' post. The truth is I didn't steal the show, that gorgeous chameleon did. He stole our hearts too. I'll be sure to tell his loving owner!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll comply with the 5-photos rule next time, I promise :)
Funny. You're right, it was the chameleon who stole the show...but you took the photo so...
DeleteAs for the 5 photo rule, think of it more as a guideline...even I don't stick to it and it was my idea. Setting a bad example for everyone, aren't I? We're just happy to have company in our search for Roy so feel free to post as many photos as you'd like.
I grew up playing in that Children's Museum! But it has grown a LOT since I was a child. It was elsewhere back then, a treat to visit, now its over the top - in a good way, I think. Providence has a nice, smaller one. I did a big mural in there for one of their exhibits long ago. There were some great contributions from all the Providence artists.
ReplyDeleteOh! To grow up playing in that children's museum! It's now 3 floors and there's a climbing structure that is amazing. Haven't been to the one in Providence, but we visit the one in Norwalk, CT often.
DeleteActually, haven't been to Providence yet. That's another town on my list of places to visit while we're living "up north". I'm a Virginia girl and am still [nearly 7 years later] getting my mind around the idea that northern towns aren't too far away.
That looks like lovely, gentle, soothing summer green...
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful description. And so true. The shot of the pond in the Public Garden in Boston. We were there briefly last week...husband had business meetings and we tagged along. I fell in love with Boston and am eager to return to take in all the art that is there, but which with the little urchins in tow was impossible to see. There are photos to come on the other blog...if life ever slows down long enough for me to edit them first.
DeleteThanks so very, very much for your positive comments on my blog post about the giant canopy! It was a labor of love and an honor to pay respects to all the anonymous stitchers who lovingly made the raw materials! I'd love to hear your take on "What a canopy bed means to you". Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteSusan
"What a canopy bed means to you" Hmmm...what immediately comes to mind Susan is the frilly, totally girly canopy beds of my childhood - always wanted one...thought they were exotic. Now, well, maybe it's because of my 5 yr old twins...who do not have canopy beds, nor will have them, but would no doubt want one just as I did.
DeleteLet me think about it a bit.

Bonnie, we've lived in CT for...yikes!...nearly 7 years now and this was my first visit to Boston. The train ride there is the same as going to Philly, yet Philly is where I've gone on those "I need time to myself" weekends.
DeleteBeing a Washington, DC girl at heart, I fell in love with Boston and want to go back so badly...sans little urchins in tow so I can have a totally selfish trip and go in all the shops, galleries and museums that I want. I know...bad mommy, bad mommy. The aquarium was impressive, but the children's museum really is magnificent. I'll get photos up on my other blog soon and will let you know so you can take a look if you'd like.
Personally, I'd love a 3 or 4 day trip of blogging buddies. You could fly up, we'd get Elizabeth of Be...Dream...Play to come down, Jeanne Williamson lives nearby and there are bound to be others. What do you think?
