Roy G Biv Reminder

Just a reminder for anyone who'd like to join Julie and I in our search for Roy G Biv that the June installment will take place this Thursday, the 21st. June's color is orange.

The guidelines are simple - post photos on your blog of items in the color orange. If you'll let either of us know, via a blog comment, we'll link to your post.

Have I mentioned the contests and prizes yet? To make this even more fun, Julie is creating fabric in each month's color as a give away. Click here to find out how to win a piece of her wonderful hand stamped and dyed fabrics.

A bit of my rusted cotton will go to the person who can best identify the subjects of my photos. Fiona and Julie were May's winners [and I know that I owe you your fabrics...sorry!] so to be fair, they can guess, but not win this month.

So, get your camera out, take a look around the house or yard...the grocery even...snap a few shots and join us Thursday for the second installment of Searching for Roy G Biv.

  1. Fun! Do the images have to be orange all over or is it enough if orange is the predominant colour? (Oh, dear, one can only ask so many silly questions...)

    1. Hmmm...predominantly orange, I'd say...or, at least, the main focus of the photo needs to be orange in color. Does that help? My own photos have been cropped so that the orange object (or part of it) is the focal point. Can't wait to see your oranges on Thursday. Make sure to leave a comment with your blog address so I know to link to you, okay?

  2. Hey there...welcome back to blogland! I'm guessing you had a busy week. I will be finishing up the orange fabric in the next couple of days. Haven't decided which one will make up as the official fabric. And the red one with cats is still up for grabs as well. Hope all that rust is getting framed!

If only! There are 25 8"x8", 10 20"x20" and 5 12"x36" canvases waiting to have rust stretched over them. At this rate, it likely won't happen until after the London trip when the girls will be in their 3rd week of art camp from 9am to 3pm.

    1. Did you have a smiley face when writing the comment? Just had to ask. :-)

  4. One can't help but smile! I have been wanting to write via email for the last week or so to talk about (praise really) all that you and Pam did on your art retreat. A few family worries at the moment are hindering me from concentration but I will put words to paper soon ;-)

    1. When the house has been taken over by 5 year old girls, there's no telling what can be found laying around. If you need a photo of a smiley face sticker or a butterfly, flower, fairy or Barbi one...well, this is the place.

I'm interested in your thoughts on the art retreat. You and Fiona were very much on our minds, especially when we were working with paper. So much so at times that I wouldn't have been surprised to look around and see you working in another area.

I hope the family worries are smoothed out soon and nothing serious.
