One of my favorite blogs is Be...Dream...Play by Elizabeth Bunsen. Her daily journal pages amuse, inspire, and instill awe in this lowly fiber artist. If you follow Elizabeth's blog, you've seen the stripeys pop up now and then...sometimes mentioned, sometimes settled quietly in the background, but present. As much as I love Elizabeth's journal pages, it's the stripeys that have captivated me.
You already know that I'm a rust junky. Well, I'm a stoner too. Yes. I like rocks of all shapes, sizes and patterns. Cairns hold me spellbound...especially these by a friend of mine.
When I realized that Elizabeth was selling her stripeys, the temptation was too great. Emails were exchanged and yesterday this arrived.
Thank you Elizabeth! The stripeys are wonderful and so are all the little surprises that you tucked in!
yay!
ReplyDeletethey arrived
and I love the mosaic you made
yesterday was my husband's birthday
we hit all the local beaches
it was VERY windy
and we gathered stripeys together - such fun
then hot chili at the orchard in the sun...

so great to share the stripey passion...

Goodness these stones are just beautiful. I too, have a thing for pebbles, they are recurring themes for me, possibly due to being brought up near the bleak coast in Yorkshire. I know what you mean about cairns too, they captivate me, I went through a phase about 10 years ago of using them repeatedly in my designs.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying your blog (just thought I'd let you know, rather than keep reading and never say anything!)
Kathryn
eb led me here...I am awaiting a box of stripey's myself.
ReplyDeleteShe is forever an inspiration :)

Oh lovely lovely pebbles Jennifer - and I loved those cairn paintings, simply stunning. We collect peebles as we go as well and I write on them too (pebble scrabble). They are incredibly friendly things I think.
