Patterns

I'm in Baltimore this weekend for the ACC show. This afternoon I strolled up Charles Street and found the most wonderful gothic style church. It was a bit foreboding looking until I got close. A variety of colors, and probably types, of stone were used to build it.

What held my attention was the markings on the stones. Chisel marks, I'm assuming, which brought to mind hand stitching in white on black fabric and had me wishing for white thread and black cotton to play with later.
