Never seen a Glasswing butterfly.
ReplyDeleteI have a selection of browns over at my blog Take Diversion. http://takediverson.blogspot.in/2015/08/searching-for-roy-g-biv-2015-brown.html
When in flight, the glasswing butterfly looks very much like a dragonfly - all you see is the white on the wings fluttering. They're beautiful and very fragile looking when still.
DeleteSo glad you're joining us again this month! Enjoy!
What a wonderful assortment of browns you've put together here! I like the photo out the plane window, and those butterflies and the fish are amazing! I have posted my browns as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharmon! The glasswing butterflies are so interesting to see flying. I've seen them before and thought them odd dragonflies. Enjoy!
DeleteNice selection! Especially like the creatures. Have joined in again at www.lindastokes-textileartist.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda!
Deletethee glasswing, so beautiful. brown sounds so much sadder than BrOwN actually is.
ReplyDeleteBrown gets a bad rap, doesn't it? A nice rich, deep, warm brown can be very luscious though - nice dark chocolate is yummy and the tan of a sandy beach brings thoughts of days at the beach...
DeleteOh I can't pick a favourite - they are all so delightful! I wonder why none of us posted chocolate bars? If I'd only thought...still I was chuffed to quote Brene Brown!
ReplyDeleteSeems a bit like sacrilege that chocolate was neglected, doesn't it? Your Brene Brown is great.
DeleteYou picked some very interesting browns! I'm just visiting this time but will join the search in September!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary Ann! Glad you'll be joining us next month with metallic gold. That's a hard one for me - more of a silver person so I notice it more. Enjoy!
DeleteHi J - the colour theme does challenge but also results in the showing of some delightful images. I think the glassing butterfly is special; but eating to cross is full of emotion.Peace. B
ReplyDeleteWaiting to cross at the Adventure Park is very full of emotion at times. Mostly me wondering "what was I thinking?!?" and "Holy sh!t...I'll never make it across". With the girls being taller and heavier, they were allowed on more runs and a few were really interesting (read that as I would have climbed down and skipped that part if it were possible).
DeleteEnjoy!
That view from the aircraft reminds me of our wonderful trip to the Canyonlands last summer. I can feel the heat from here! But that beautiful glasswings butterfly is my favourite - so delicate!
ReplyDeleteThe glasswing butterflies are my favorite too. I'm still amazed I got the shot!
DeleteHello Jennifer - I can't pick a favourite either .... adore the photo of the 'see-through' butterfly', glassing I presume and yet can actually FEEL the photograph where you are waiting your turn to cross at the adventure park. I would find that challenging/exhilarating. Will now have a wander further back through your blog x
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I've been wondering where you'd gotten to this summer and hoped you were off on a grand adventure. The Adventure Park is fun, challenging and scary. As the girls grow taller and heavier, they have access to more difficult levels of runs. We saw two boys about their age turn around and come back from a run that was the next level up. I asked a staff member why and he responded that there was a section where they just weren't tall enough to reach the overhead wire. That prompted me (in all my 5 feet of overwhelming height - ha!) to ask if I'd be able to reach it. No. For the upper level runs, it seems at least 5 ft 6 inches is the shortest that works well. Darn! That leaves 2 whole levels of runs inaccesible to me. Shame. (read that as phhhhewwww!!! or yes!) Enjoy!
