My pieces from the Alchemy of Tea exhibit at the Cornelius Arts Center arrived home safely over the weekend. I finally had time yesterday to open the tubes and hang the larger pieces in the studio. It's nice to have them home for a few months before they go adventuring in the spring.

Hi J - these are startling pieces - good to see them safely home - what will happen with them now? At the moment I can identify with you re the snow and cold. Go well. Peace. B
ReplyDeleteJust strolled over to your newest blog post and can happily say that for the moment, it looks as if Prague is colder than here. Good for me, but maybe not so good for you and Fiona. Although, the iciness doesn't seem to have bother you. Love the photos!
DeleteAs for my tea bag pieces, the middle one goes on to its new owner very soon. The others will be stored until I send them on to Kris at Kingwood Fine Art Gallery where the whole exhibit of Alchemy of Tea will be traveling to in the spring/summer. It's quite exciting. Enjoy!
Hi J we are rugged up and totally enjoying the cold, for now! It is always so nice to have beautiful, pieces home again, but also so special to send them out into the world...love them!
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying the photos from your trip. Prague fascinates me with those old roof lines that hint at fairy tales...or Grimm's tales...not quite sure which.
DeleteIt is good to have the pieces back for a bit. The middle one needs a bit of mending and then sending off to its new owner. Yay!
Wow I love these. They are so visually striking and bet they are even better in person.
ReplyDeleteAm I allowed to say that they are better in person or will that sound too....well too much like bragging or something? Truth is that they are better in person though. Maybe I'll have a few finished to submit to your exhibition. Now there's a thought!
DeleteI just found my way to you from Lotta Helleberg's blog ... there is much here to love and learn from and I look forward to following your posts.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Liz!
Deletei can't imagine the feelings associated with work, travelling to-n-fro. beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteIt's much like sending your baby off to school for the first time. You fret that they'll arrive safely and will be liked and cared for in your absence. Then you fret that they'll arrive safely back home. Enjoy!
DeleteThese are just stunning, Jennifer! It must be good to have them back...to bask in their familiarity and, I would imagine, also enjoy them with fresh eyes. I just love how much is going on here - you would never grow tired of looking at them...
ReplyDeleteIt is good to have the pieces back for a bit. I keep wanting add more layers to them though and tweak them a bit. Not sure that's allowed as they'll be moving on in the spring to another exhibit. Enjoy!
