One pair of these were my jeans for dyeing reeds in and are a bit stained. I started to not use the stained parts, but then decided to...it's all part of my story, after all. Enjoy!
Oh me oh mi - there must be an itch that just needs scratching there! Hope you have fun - it's sometimes good to get straight back whilst you still remember all the sideways tracks you took (in case you want to avoid them (or take them again!)).
J - are creative types not hilarious - we enjoy creating something so much we say to ourselves I could do that again - maybe in a different metal or fabric - it is only when we have a stash that we think - hmm!! I think I just might go over there and start anew. Enjoy the apron phase - maybe a really strong macho one for metal workers??? Go well - enjoy spring and the quiet of the mornings. B
So..."a really strong macho one for metal workers", huh? Too funny Barry. You never know how long this phase will last...or what might get created. Just saying...
Do you mean my rusty apron? I made it based on a very simple pattern that a friend shared - 34" x 44" fabric with straps. It was meant to be a straight basic pinafore apron, but once finished, there was too much loose fabric under my arms so I began to tweak it to fit my body. In the end, the shape is a simple A line...or Christmas tree as I told my daughters. It fits my body much better.
An apron with your eco dyed fabrics would be wonderful! Please share photos if you make one. Enjoy!
Love the stories in old jeans.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for their transformation.
Happy creating!

ReplyDeleteThat's kind of the idea...well, that and I don't want to get my rusty apron dirty yet. Ha!
Deletefirst thing into the studio... bliss.
ReplyDeletei really love piecing and stitching denim. there's something about this utilitarian fabric that fits so well to re-purposing.
It was very early yesterday morning...4:15 am-ish early. Woke up and was wide awake so I knew it would be useless to lay in bed.
DeleteI've never worked with denim before, but am already loving the feel of it as the jeans are deconstructed.
