Light and shadows

Thought I'd post a few more shots of the sun playing with the third accordion book.

The snow has moved in and is here to stay for a bit - until tomorrow around 1 pm
if the weather forecasters are correct. Be safe everyone!

  1. That's really pretty, Jennifer. It reminds me of the golden glow of early light bulbs through mica lampshades.

I also like how you used the selvedge edge on the fabric; it adds a an extra bit of texture and detail.

    1. Thank you! I love the selvedge edge of this particular piece. The gray line at the edge is something that just appeared in the rusting process.

  2. here it's just snowing, serious snow, but nothing wild or crazy. selveges are favorite things for me, one quilting friend used to save them and the writing on them for me! can't wait to see where these will go (did i already say that?!)

    1. We've got about 3 inches so far and it's coming down like mad. Just normal winds as yet. Hopefully, it will stay that way. I can handle the snow as long as we have power.

The funny thing about this selvedge is that I don't remember there being a line of any sort running along it before it was rusted - probably just my faulty memory! I love the line though and wish more of cotton had it as well.

The book is sewn...accordioned, that is. Just waiting to add the beeswax. 7 folds on this one. Definitely my favorite.

    1. It does warm me Wyn, especially as the sun will likely be hiding for a few days. It's no doubt gone to some beach to hang out while we play in the blizzard. 17" on the back deck at 5 am this morning. Can't really tell if it's still snowing or if the wind has bits flying and whirling. My little urchins are going to love this!

Profound and so right. I love finding those little hidden or unexpected moments to photograph. Can't beat Mother Nature shining in the studio.

    1. Me too! I'm more of a spring/summer gal. I thought the groundhog predicted that spring is here. Just shows what he knows. Hope you're well and warm.

  6. Looks like you're on a roll! Your closeup shots really bring out the beauty of this scrumptious, tactile book. I just love the long lines of stitching you've introduced into each of these books...

    1. The last shot is my favorite too. I un-officially dubbed 2013 the year of the book. Thought I'd apply my mantra of just do it to books and accordions seemed the best to begin with. Now I hooked!
