its amazing what you can see if you stop and look! most of the time we just glance! where are you looking? I like the patterns that show up on the old wood floors in my house! p.s. thanks for visiting my Walking Women. I am planning a further trip for them.
Old wooden floors are the best for patterns...and wooden steps that have been painted numerous times. I love seeing the patterns left by the wear and tear on those.
Your Walking Women are so powerful. I'll be eagerly awaiting more scenes from their travels.
ah - crisp black and white. Nothing beats really - and I love that it could be anything at all. sometimes, mostly actually, the enigmatic mark is best of all.
Very well stated Susan. And thank you for the wonderful comment. Black and white is just a classic combination...and one that I love. When the afternoon light steaming through the studio window hit what I was working on...and I finally noticed...it was just too good not to photograph. Of course, its got my creative mind whirling with thoughts of a series.
Hmm...I am still trying to figure out what's making what I think are shadows on (Canson?) paper. I love their irregularity (yet the presence of a definite rhythm), and the contrast of color/texture. These last few posts of yours are certainly full of mystery...and promise!
I agree with Arzigogolare about your last few posts being full of mystery and promise. It's really exciting to see your images and imagine what you will be able to achieve in the new year. Good stuff. xx
Thank you so much Judy. I feel a bit adrift at the moment, for a bunch of reasons, and am very much looking forward to the new year and to getting back to work. There are several ideas demanding attention...and one that involves the light and shadows above. Let's just see if I have the skills to pull it off.

Yum. I'm not sure what I'm looking at it but I like it!
ReplyDeleteI love you don't know what you're looking at! Hmmm...should I tell? Not just yet...

love this! a mystery artist painting with light for a gracious and sensitive host.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anca for such a poetic comment. The mystery artist is the sun streaming through my studio window.

ReplyDeleteGood guess!
DeleteSimply gorgeous! I love the rhythm and the (apparent) simplicity of these shots, you have a great eye for pattern!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ersi! I've been enjoying the light streaming through the window now that the leaves are all off the trees.
