I went wow and oh as I scrolled down - all those indigo images are sublime. The kimonos; the vest; your mono print. I wish I had found some indigo on the block recently; but these are perfect here so I feel fine about it now.
Glad you like the indigo...especially my stash. The top two pieces are the solid indigo (front and back) that you gave me as well as the lighter piece in the middle. Now...to figure out what to do with it all. I keep dreaming of having an indigo boro jacket. Not sure my stash in large enough for that yet though. One day.
Whoa...especially the monoprint...want to know more about those!Guess we got through Roy...but plan to have him as a regular visitor. Hope you will too.
Definitely need to have Roy visit often! Next time we should switch colors...or post the same color the same day and see what we each have. Oh! What fun. For more about my indigo monoprinting, easiest way to see is to click on indigo from the index list. I actually began the monoprinting process in October 2010...forgot! The pages, I as think of them, are waiting patiently to be taken out and continued. One day...
Had a look at your lovely indigo. Makes me want to sit down and stitch! I do like the idea of being on the hunt for Roy...maybe work on the same color on the same day...will have to figure out how to plan that. I've been working with kitchen resists today in prep for my class that starts next week. Was having fun with all the extra matzoh...sick of eating it so using it as a resist!
The planning for working with Roy is easy. What first comes to mind is to do a color a month...start with red...agree to post the same number of photos...5 maybe...agree on the day, say the first Wednesday of each month...and post with a link to each others' blog. Invite others to join us in the search and posting [on their own blogs] if they'd like. Well...that's what popped into my mind just now. Matzoh as resist?!? Is it possible? When are you posting about it? Soon, I hope. Just the thought is...funny and intriguing.
Can't seem to keep up with the replies...just sent my idea to you about Roy on the teabag post. But am liking your idea of a month. I know that I may paint and print in each color just to see what I can get out of it...posting photos, of course. Would love it if others would play along. Let's discuss more...off to sell beads.
mmmmmmmm - specially love your monoprint.
Wow! Thank you. One of these days, the indigo mono prints will be brought out and worked on again...and show up on the blog. Enjoy!
The kimono exhibition must have been very exciting to see. All the textures, layers and overlapping worn fabric pieces in such beautiful washed out indigo blues... yum!
The kimono exhibition was exquisite. Maybe I'll dig up the cd the photos are stored on and post a few more.
