Laundry

I don't know about you, but for me, laundry is...well...a not-so-loved chore...possibly even a 4 letter word type of word...except, of course, that it actually has more than 4 letters.

Unless, that is, it happens to be studio laundry. Then it becomes an adventure of sorts.

My unplanned absence from the blogging world has been a side effect of summer. The funk that normally sets in in the spring when the yard begins to grow and green held off this year until we returned from a week at beach.

Since then, my mood has been a bit murky. Our yard with its myriad of trees, which some find comforting, has once again become a prison of sorts for me. Gorgeous days find me outside...enjoying a chai at Starbucks or a cafe offering sidewalk tables and long views.

While such a mood is not conducive for detailed work, it has allowed for a bit of rusting. Last Thursday, once all the human laundry was done, it was time to catch up on the studio washing.

There were linen scarves from Christine Mauersberger's Hank and Spool

as well as my favorite 100% cotton

and even the occassional t-shirt.

I'm thinking this one will definitely be worn in Scotland in a couple weeks when I head over for Sandra Brownlee's Tactile Notebooks and the Written Word at Big Cat Textiles in Newburgh.

Before it slips my mind, this Thursday is Roy G Biv day. We're up to V for violet - or purple as I think of it. As always, Julie and I invite you to join us in our search for the elusive Mr. Biv. Enjoy!
